O. M. Beketov National University of Municipal Economy in Kharkiv has the Office for support of people with disabilities at the Department of Urban Construction.

The work of the Office is headed by Ivasenko V., associate professor of the Urban Construction Department, who completed advanced training courses and received diplomas, certificates:

  • Certificate of study at the regional training and practical seminar on legislative and regulatory support of architectural accessibility in Ukraine, Poltava, 2015;
  • Certificate of participation in the project-training course "Space: the human dimension" in the framework of the international project "Winter School of Urbanism" January 21-28, 2018, Kyiv;
  • Certificate of 40-hour training in the program «Sign Language. Basic entry level»

Acknowledgements and awards:

  • Diploma of Poltava Regional State Administration, 2015,
  • Acknowledgement for the support and promotion for the development of youth initiatives from the Chairman of the Youth Council of the Kharkiv city’s head, 2018,
  • Acknowledgement for the active and open position in creating a barrier-free environment in Kharkiv and Ukraine from the Vice-President of the public organization of disabled "CREAVITA", 2019,
  • Acknowledgement of the city’s head of Kharkiv, 2019,
  • Award for high level of professionalism and significant contribution to the creation of an inclusive environment in Ukraine from the public organization of disabled "CREAVITA", 2020.

Competitions:

  • Competition of student works on adaptation of cultural institutions of the city for people with disabilities – "City without barriers". Title: "Adaptation of the territory and premises of the art museum for all" 2017. Supervisor of a group of students. The certificate was received.
  • City competition of student projects "Kharkiv – the city of youth initiatives". Title: "Creating a multifunctional space, friendly to all, near the Kharkiv State Circus" 3rd place in the nomination "Native Kharkiv – sustainable development" 2018. Scientific adviser of a group of students. The certificate was received.
  • City competition of student projects "Kharkiv – the city of youth initiatives". Title: "Creating a multifunctional space, friendly to all, near the Kharkiv State Circus" 3rd place in the nomination "Native Kharkiv – sustainable development". 2019. Scientific adviser of a group of students. The certificate was received.

Cooperation with non-governmental organizations:

  • NGO "Struggle for Rights" education and training in Ukraine on the creation of environmental inclusion and decisions.
  • NGO "Poltava City Public Association of Persons with Disabilities "Vira" research, analysis and development of recommendations for the inclusion of people with disabilities and other low-mobility groups in the social and political life of the country.

Zavalnyi Oleksandr headed the jury in the Nomination of the competition "Elements of the street and road network of the city" at the International competition of student and professional works "Inclusive Design", which aims to introduce in Ukraine environment, products and services based on inclusive design.

The competition was supported by the Democracy Fund of the US Embassy in Ukraine and the Committee for Accessibility of Low-Mobility Groups to the Social and Engineering-Transport Infrastructure Facilities of Kharkiv and the public organization of disabled CREAVITA.
